Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning is an upcoming American spy action film directed and produced by Christopher McQuarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Erik Jendresen. It is the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) and the seventh installment in the Mission: Impossible film series. The film stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, and Henry Czerny.
In January 2019, Cruise announced that the seventh and eighth Mission: Impossible films would be shot back-to-back with McQuarrie writing and directing both films. Returning and new cast members were announced soon after, and Lorne Balfe, who composed the musical score for Fallout, returned to score the film. Filming began in Italy in February 2020 but was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It resumed later that year and concluded in September 2021 with other filming locations, including Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. It will be the first film in the series since Mission: Impossible 2 to not involve J. J. Abrams in any capacity.

What’s Dead Reckoning About
The first of two films, Dead Reckoning Part One, is intended to bring the franchise’s Cruise period to a close. Ethan Hunt and his team are actively searching for a bioweapon that could endanger humanity’s existence at the beginning of the last chapter. If that wasn’t enough pressure, Ethan’s former adversaries are catching up with him, endangering the mission and the lives of his team. This will be the biggest mission yet with those types of stakes. One of the scariest stunts in movie history—Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff and parachuteing into the canyon below—has received extensive marketing attention.
To achieve the ideal jump, they performed that move countless times. The movie will also feature many vehicle chases, rail fights, and dramatic shootouts to keep genre fans on the edge of their seats. The most characters in the franchise’s history can be found in Dead Reckoning. Along with Cruise, other notable cast members include Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny, while Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, and Pom Klementieff will soon make an explosive entrance.
The narrative of Ethan Hunt is far from over. Hunt and his fearless team will embark on yet another world-saving adventure in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, which is just around the corner.
The latest movie, which will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie and star Tom Cruise as the legendary international agent Ethan Hunt, is expected to push the boundaries of both new and recurring characters.
